Todo va a salir bien

Everything is going to be OK.

I would have never thought that we were going to find ourselves in a situation like the one we are living at the moment. I went to work after a sleepless night thinking about what we are facing, and the Fama team and I spoke about the possibility of producing some surgical marks.

When we had just finished the mask template, we got a called from our local hospital. They were contacting some factories in the area which could manufacture surgical masks.

I went to the hospital in the afternoon, and while I was there, I received 7 WhatsApp messages which said: “Felix, the hospital is looking for factories which can manufacture surgical masks. Don’t you think that we should get involved?”.

24 hours later, we were cutting 1000 surgical masks while our sewing team was preparing their working areas, so we could start producing masks.

We also followed strict cleaning and sanitizing measures, so that we could get down to work as soon as possible. Rafa, who’s our production supervisor, told me how some of the sewers could not help but cry when they were sanitizing their working spaces and sewing the first surgical masks. Then, they told Rafa that they were coming to work the day after, even though it was a bank holiday in most of the regions in Spain.

These strange times that we are living through, which seems to be more like a nightmare. Nevertheless, when you see that your employees have this type of response, you just could not be more proud of them.

This is a feeling that is very hard to describe with words. Those who know me are aware that it does not take much for me to cry. I think I broke my own record today. I doubt that there can hardly be anyone luckier than me.

It was not our intention to share this story at first, but the news go at a lightning speed. We received several calls from radio stations and TV channels. We do not want this to be seen as a project of Fama, this is a project of the people who work at Fama.

We are living such strange and uncertain times, but when I think about this project my adrenaline start pumping. It is such a satisfying feeling seeing how our Fama team is responding to this, putting so much effort and enthusiasm in order to help medical centres and hospitals.

As our Fama team says: Everything is going to be OK.
