Fama, with their aim to provide new solutions in sectors other than the home, have developed a specific product for the world of dentistry.

In this case Dr. Paloma López along with the Pediatric Dentistry master degree team of the University of Murcia, pointed out the existing need within the Surgical services in general, and within Pediatric Dentistry in particular of creating a stretcher to facilitate performing treatments to babies.

Up to today, these treatments were performed either by placing the baby on the legs of the professional or of the baby’s companion, or by means of large and complex systems which did not allow physical contact between the baby and his companion.
Based on these needs, Fama Sofas R & D team has been working hand in hand with Paloma López and the Master's team to create a new type of stretcher to facilitate dental and medical treatments for babies (0-3 years).

In the market worldwide, there is no solution to cover this type of needs, and thanks to this collaboration a brand new product has been developed. The use of computer media and large format 3D printers has allowed the realisation of different prototypes in real size which have been used in real treatments and have helped to continue improving the design.

This new product was presented at the World Dental Congress of the FDI (International Dental Federation), which took place in Madrid from 29th August to 1st September, 2017. We are sure that it will facilitate the work of the pediatric staff in their treatments.
Paloma López and the Master Degree of Pediatric Dentistry team were able to show this new product to the Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality, Ms. Dolors Monserrat, who knew firsthand the usefulness of this new product, and encouraged all professionals to introduce it and use it in Spanish hospitals.
